The creative team here at JesusBranded just came out with a nice new set of 468×60 banners and I am hoping to see some more sizes with the new design soon. These ones incorporate some of our new designs, and “Free Shipping” messaging with an effective call to action. They should do nice click thru numbers for you. Here’s what we added:

If you are looking for us, make sure to search on “Stripes39″ and you’ll find us quickly - we’ll also come up under “Christian” or “T shirt”

I’ve just set up a support community for JesusBranded in ShoutLife. What’s ShoutLife you ask?

Well, it’s a social networking site like MySpace built for Christians by Christians. Which means that we can still blog and link to each other and discuss things, but you don’t have top worry about the inappropriate ads and constant barrage of webcam girls looking to lead you down the wrong path. It’s also just a great place to network with other Christian folks online.

I just got off of chat with Carolyn Tang from Shareasale (our affiliate network) and she let me know that right now, they are automatically declining all applications for their network that submit MySpace pages for their sites.

Why ?

Because MySpace bans affiliate linking in their Terms and Conditions.

If you’d like to work with us and only have a MySpace page now, please talk to me and we’ll figure out a plan to help you sell JesusBranded shirts.

It’s come up to the team here that some of our fans are getting their applications denied by our affiliate network provider (Shareasale) because they don’t have top level domains (TLD’s)

I just looked through the terms and conditions at Shareasale and saw no mention of this as a criteria for approval - but I will check in with them on this.

In terms of affiliate marketing on MySpace, I do have to caution that MySpace prohibits affiliate linking. They’d prefer to show only ads that they are paid for. If you market directly on MySpace using affiliate links, those links will most likely be stripped out and your accounts may be switched off. So - how do you promote affiliate programs on MySpace - by leading people to another page where you have links, testimonials, etc.

If you aren’t technical, I’d recommend using something like Blogger.com or a similar free hosted site. If you are really serious, I’d take a look at getting your own domain, or using a product like SiteBuiltIt! to build out a content site that you can tell people about in your blogs, bulletins, etc. It’s a good system for building indexable content heavy websites with little or no tehnical skills.

We are working feverishly here to get the JesusBranded affiliate program up and running with all of the tools in place to put you in position to be successful as affiliates.

We’ve partnered with ShareASale to power our affiliate tracking, reporting and payment for a couple of reasons.   They have a great reputation for fair play with affiliates and merchants alike and a commitment to great service.     There is no tolerance for dishonest and predatory marketing techniques like use of ad-ware and parasite ware and this is the way it should be.   I’ve know the team there for a long time and I am excited to work with them.
